Hello my beautiful PNC listeners,

This summer has started off with a blast for me and thanks to all of my loyal listeners, Ask Indy is growing. It’s been over 6 years of me doing Ask Indy and I’m here to lend my advice and opinion to those that need and want it. You can check us out on The Midday Invasion, live Monday thru Thursday (1 to 4pm) right here on PNCRadio.fm as you already know, and now you can check in every weekend for each Ask Indy’s question of the week. Without further adieu…

Dear Indy: My husband is sexy, kind, romantic and attentive mentally. We have been married for almost a year and we haven’t had sex yet. I have questioned his sexuality and investigated his email, phone and nothing shows that he is cheating on me or has been with the opposite sex. What should I do? We had sex before we got married. Why aren’t we having sex now? He had some child hood issues with sex but from what we talked about, he had worked through them. What should I do?

Mrs, Married To A Asexual Man: First I want to stress to you, please don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

There is a major shortage of decent men, even if he isn’t giving up the goods to you right now. The last thing the world needs is another single woman trying to find the perfect mate. NO MAN or WOMAN is perfect! It sounds as
though your husband is having intimacy issues as well as a issue with his sexuality. If he isn’t cheating as you say and isn’t batting for the other team, you really need to sit him down and explain to him your need for his physical attention and express your attraction to him. If all fails in this attempt to get a spark going, you really need to get some professional help. Your husband may need to get help for himself, first. He may need to sit and speak with a psychiatrist who specializes in sexual dysfunction. Then you both should sit and speak with a marriage counselor, if your husband wants to save the marriage he will take the necessary steps to do so.

Your in my thoughts always,

Hugs & Kisses

Indy

Ask Indy a question! Write to indy@itsindyonline.com or you can Tweet
a question to @itsindy

This past Friday on #BodegaRadio on PNCRadio.fm, New York Emcee, Jesse Abraham discussed the re-release of his latest project, One Day. “The original EP had 10 tracks on there, and on the LP I added four more joints,” Abraham told DJ Run P and host, The Company Man. “I added a joint with Homeboy Sandman. I added a joint with Blu and I had a freestyle that I did for DJBooth.net that was an exclusive joint that ended up on the album that was produced by KO Beatz. And then this joint called “Holy Crap,” which was produced by The Neptunes.”

The Neptunes production is actually a jacked beat, Abraham explained. “I wasn’t trying to trick anybody,” he said. “Heads will call it a freestyle, heads will call it whatever. It’s just a song. I was just having some fun.” JA released the One Day EP this past March but decided to follow up with a re-release three months later on June 14th. “I put the EP out exclusively for sale on iTunes kind of like a heat-check.”

He continued: “And the data that came back to me was people don’t really wanna drop $4 for a Jesse Abraham record yet. There’s so much free music out there that people are just “I want it for free, I want it for free.” But I understand that. Those ten joints I felt were solid, but if I was going to put out a re-release, which I planned to do. It was an EP intentionally in March. I wanted to bulk it up. I wanted to tell a full story. So the joints I added, I intentionally made them more cohesive so the full LP that dropped this week, it has a complete arc. Beginning, middle and end. And I was happy to have those heads on the track. I’ve been meaning to do a joint with Sandman for a while. Was just waiting for the time to be right. The Blu collabo was a very beautiful blessing. I was happy to make that happen. And everything else just kind of fell into place. So it worked out.”

JA’s been prolific since 2009, releasing Alphabutter, XS, Bars & NoBull almost consecutively. The One Day LP re-release is Abraham’s fifth project in two years and he’s currently working on his sixth. “I’m already starting on a new project,” he said. “I have a weird little concept album that I’m working on that’s strange and different. So I’ll be throwing that out there. Right now it’s called SMS 2012. We’ll see what comes of that.”

When he’s not writing rhymes, Jesse Abraham owns and operates a private tutoring company for New York City school children. When asked about New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie’s pilot program allowing private companies to run public schools in his state, Abraham stated, “It’s and interesting idea to try to take it out of the public’s hands and give it to corporations.”

“I’ll be honest with you. I think that whatever’s going on behind the scenes of the schools is one thing — and that’s going to be something that happens out of the hands of people that really matter. But I think it all comes down to what happens in the classrooms, how much attention the teacher’s paying, and not just what the curriculum’s like but how much they are communicating it to the kids and how much do they really care? To me it’s less about really the system, and more about the individuals that are controlling what’s in those kids lives. They’re people and I think it’s the people that matter more than the programs.”

Koncept and J57 of the Brown Bag Allstars discussed their recent performance at K Sise’s album release party on #BodegaRadio on PNCRadio.fm on Friday. One of the highlight’s of that night was Audible Doctor and J57‘s live beat exhibition featuring unheard, upcoming tracks. “One of the verses I kicked was from “High” which is off my EP with Tranzformer,” Koncept said. “The other verse is actually off another verse I kicked with Tranzformer that is not released yet.” J57 also commented that the beat used will be on his upcoming album with DJ Blame One. “That’s going to be our track featuring Brown Bag [Allstars],” he told DJ Run P and host, The Company Man. “He’s from the Dirty Science crew with Exile so we’ll have a Dirty Science track with a Brown Bag track. Both families. Not together but on different tracks.”

Brown Bag Allstars continues to gain momentum throughout New York’s independent music scene. The crew was featured in HipHopDX’s, DXNext section and recently celebrated the release of double-disk, Brown Bag Season Vol. 1. Despite Brown Bag’s increased notoriety, Koncept and J57 do not feel any pressure about the upcoming release of the group’s still untitled debut album, expected in 2012. “I’m not nervous about it because I’m fairly confident that it’s by far our best work — as far as the beats, as far as everything goes on all levels,” said Koncept. “The love that we’ve gotten from the projects that we’ve already been putting out and what people have already heard, if we’ve gotten that much love from that, I can only imagine what we’re going to get from the album because, in my opinion, it’s by far our best work.”

“I agree with him,” added J57. “The reason I’m not scared about it is because we’ve had the beats picked forever. I have to make one more beat and then I’m done. We have 12 joints, probably. It’s going to be a full album, you know what I mean. Six joints from bigger name producers, [which] we’re not naming who, yet. And then three with me and three with Audible Doctor which is some of our best work. So, like, I got two. I need one more. Audible Doctor has two and needs one more. What I’m saying is, I’m not nervous. We’ve got pretty much everything done, we just need to write the rhymes. Half of it is done. Half of it is really done.”

Brown Bag Season Vol. 1 recently cracked UGHH top selling album charts and is available for purchase at FatBeats.com. Koncept is also poised to release his debut album, Awaken. “[Awaken] is mainly produced by J57,” said Koncept. “It’s also produced by Audible Doctor, DJ Goo, Marink and the lead single — which y’all will be the first to hear about this because I haven’t told anybody yet — is produced by Marco Polo and features Royce Da 5’9.”

Royce Da 5’9 recently teamed up with long time friend and rival, Eminem to release their much anticipated EP, Bad Meets Evil. The EP title is same title as a track off of Eminem’s debut album, The Slim Shady LP which featured both lyricists prior to the pair’s eventual falling out. The Bad Meets Evil EP marks the ultimate reconciliation between the two Detroit Emcees. Koncept elaborated on his pending collaboration with Royce Da 5’9. “It’s about different obstacles getting in your way and trying to get to a certain point and things keep blocking you,” he said. “I felt that it was perfect for a joint with Royce because, obviously he had many obstacles. The whole beef with Em to getting locked up and so forth, a good friend of his passing. I thought that it was just the perfect subject for him to be on and Royce is one of my all time favorite Emcees. It was an honor to be able to work with someone that I look up to.”

Koncept is in the midst of discussions with labels and is hoping to release the single in July. “We have to really find a home first and see where that’s going,” he said. “We’re still finding it’s home so there’s no real date on it yet.”

Underground revolutionary producer and PNCRadio.fm deejay, DJ Metaphysic passed away today from injuries sustained in a car accident on June 6, 2010. For the past year, Metaphysic was the DJ for The Soundtrack Lunchbox with K.Nowble, which aired every Monday through Thursday at Noon.

Born Jamal Gordon, Meta was a talented producer, crafting songs for a host of artists including Jay-Z, AZ, dead prez, Immortal Technique, Chen Lo, Stone Forest Ensemble just to name a few. “Meta was a really nice guy and an amazing talent,” says Alex Norman, President/CEO of PNC Radio & Entertainment. “I really don’t know what to say. I’m in shock right now. This is a tremendous loss to the world.”

Metaphysic was loved by many artists and was a true inspiration to revolutionary music. Friends describe him as a “generous soul.”

“My brother @DjMetaphysic was a GREAT MAN,” says Abacus via Twitter. “A father, music producer & a good friend. Your memory will live on forever thru us!”

MIAMI – Dirk Nowitzki taught the Heat a lesson Thursday night. Don’t count your NBA titles before they hatch.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade sure seemed to be doing just that. After Wade made a 3-pointer with 7:14 left in the game, he sauntered back up the court as James lightly punched him in the chest a half-dozen times.

And why not? The shot gave Miami a 15-point lead. If James and Wade weren’t convinced the game was over, most of America was.

Approximately 7 minutes and 11 seconds later, most of America was thrilled to have been so wrong.

That’s when Nowitzki drove past Chris Bosh for a layup that gave Dallas a 95-93 win. American Airlines Arena was full of bewilderment. How did a sure 2-0 series lead turn into an epic meltdown?

It was a lot of Nowitzki, with a big helping of Jason Terry. It was great defense and resilience from Dallas. But as much as anything, it was James and Wade being too good for Miami’s own good.

The Heat relaxed because their two superstars are the ultimate insurance policy. When catastrophes strike, one or both usually swoop in and save the day.

LeBron James finished with 20 points in Game 2, but the Heat only scored five points in the final 7:14 of the game in their 95-93 loss to the Mavericks. (AP Photo)

It’s easy to be mesmerized by their greatness. And did they ever put on a great show for about 40 minutes. It was about that time that ABC cut to a shot of the crowd in American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Thousands of fans looked either bored or suicidal. The scene must have been similar in millions of living rooms around the country. You know the storyline:

Heat – evil, ego-driven title chasers.

Mavs – Selfless heroes who help bake cookies for orphans on days off.

The latest incarnation of Heat Hate cropped up after Game 1. A bitter Cleveland fan (or is that redundant?) started a Cavs For Mavs Facebook page. By Thursday it had almost 5,000 followers. The postgame comments were better than anything said in Miami.

“I’ve never been happier with the outcome of a sporting event (non-Indians/Browns/Cavs). Teamwork and toughness wins over showboating smugness.”

Heat fans will argue the smug part, but nobody can say Dallas isn’t tough. The torn tendon in the middle finger on Nowitzki’s left hand got almost as much attention the past two days as Anthony Weiner.

The finger wasn’t supposed to hurt Dirk’s shooting, but something sure seemed wrong for much of the game. And the way Terry was shooting, you’d have thought he had torn every tendon in both hands.

As they struggled, Wade and James put on a freak show of fast-break dunks and 3-point shooting. Then Wade hit that jumper to make it 88-73, and he did it right in front of the Mavericks’ bench.

Dallas called timeout. Then came the celebration.

“It was not a celebration,” James said.

It was just two guys who got excited, he explained.

“A celebration is champagne bottles,” Wade said.

To Dallas, James might as well have been pouring Cristal all over Wade. Terry looked at Nowitzki in the Dallas huddle.

“There’s no way we’re going out like this,” he said.

The rest is Cavs For Mavs history. The shots that Wade and James were making earlier started to clang off the rim.

Miami will still win the title. But for one night, at least, the Heat Hating segment of America got what it wanted.

The national animosity began with The Decision, and was cemented when the Big Three held the laser-and-fireworks pep rally after signing. It was the kind of thing teams do all the time – after they win a title.

LeBron promised multiple–“not six, not seven”– championships that day. Number One seemed all but clinched Thursday night. Then Miami relaxed, and Dallas showed the Heat the dangers of premature celebration.

“It wasn’t a celebration,” James reiterated.

Whatever it was, the Heat better not fall into that frame of mind again. If they do, the Cavs For Mavs crowd will show what a real celebration looks like.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the Michigan pathologist who put assisted suicide on the world’s medical ethics stage, died early Friday, according to a spokesman with Beaumont Hospital. He was 83.

The assisted-suicide advocate had been hospitalized in Michigan for pneumonia and a kidney-related ailment, his attorney has said.

The 82-year-old former pathologist had struggled with kidney problems for years and had checked into a hospital earlier this month for similar problems, his lawyer, Mayer Morganroth, told CNN last month. He checked back into Beaumont Hospital in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak on May 18 after suffering a relapse, Morganroth said.

Kevorkian, dubbed “Dr. Death,” made national headlines as a supporter of physician-assisted suicide and “right-to-die” legislation. He was charged with murder numerous times through the 1990s for helping terminally ill patients take their own lives.

He was convicted on second-degree murder charges in 1999 stemming from the death of a patient who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly called Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was paroled in 2007.

Morganroth told the Detroit Free Press it appears Kevorkian suffered a pulmonary thrombosis when a blood clot from his leg broke free and lodged in his heart. With Kevorkian were his niece Ava Janus and Morganroth.

“It was peaceful,” Morganroth told the paper. “He didn’t feel a thing.”

DJ Khalil, who produced the single “Kush” along with Dr. Dre, said the album is in its “final stretches” of production.

“Dre’s album is definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch,” DJ Khalil told Billboard. “He has the record going, but I’m sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he’s not comfortable putting it out yet.”

According to DJ Khalil, Dre’s new album definitely had a “futuristic West coast sound.”

“I don’t know what he’s keeping, though,” DJ Khalil admitted during the interview with Billboard.

At press time, a release date for Detox was unavailable.
